Air Filtration offers holistically oriented air filter units for turbines, compressors and engines, which set economic and ecological standards. The products Air Filtration supplies range from pulse filter, cartridge filter and bag filter systems to inertial filter and rotary oil bath filter systems.

Customised air intake systems

Air Filtration air intake systems can be variably combined to match climatic conditions, dust concentration, local parameters and specific applications.

Static filters, pulse filters, inertial separators and depth-filter cartridge systems

In regions with relatively low dust concentration, a multi-stage static filter system consisting of a pre-filter (e.g. a pocket filter) and a fine filter (e.g. a filter element) is the most practical solution. A droplet separator is additionally integrated for climates with long periods of high humidity while a coalescer filter is recommended in wet outdoor zones (e.g. coastal areas and for offshore applications).

Anti-icing systems for power plants

Anti-icing systems are used wherever low temperatures can occur in combination with high humidity. Air Filtration anti-icing systems can be used in heat exchangers, warm and hot-air distributors, infrared systems and electric heaters.

Self-cleaning pulse filter systems

Self-cleaning pulse filter systems are used where high dust concentrations prevail, such as in desert areas or highly polluted industrial regions. The dust particles are captured on the surface of the filter media and are successfully removed by counter-flow pulse jet cleaning with compressed air. Air Filtration pulse filter systems are operated without additional anti-icing.

Inertial separators for extreme-dust areas

In regions in which great dust concentrations can occur, intake air can efficiently be cleaned by inertial separators. The eliminated dust is ejected to the outside by a secondary-air fan, minimizing operating costs by avoiding exchangeable filter media.

Deep-filter cartridge systems

Deep-filter cartridge systems are effective in covering a broad field of application, using an economic pre-filter sock and a highly compact and efficient filter cartridge. Deep filters can also be used as retrofits for existing pulse filter systems.

Standard air intake systems

Standard solutions from Air Filtration are characterized by dimensionally matched modular configurations. All modules can be easily combined and extended by further standard components as weather hoods, droplet eliminators, sound attenuators and connecting air ducts.

Universal duct filters

The universal duct filter is equipped with static filters such as filter mats, bag filters, filter elements and roll filters. G2 to H13 filter classes can be implemented.

Standard pulse filter systems

With the standard pulse filter system, the technical benefits of pulse filter cartridges can be economically implemented, even for small air volumes. As a result, the pulse filter is especially used for engines and relatively small compressors.

Rotary-oil bath filters

The rotary-oil bath filters are primarily used for filtration of coarse dust from the combustion air of diesel engine, including under the most difficult of environmental conditions.

Replacement air-filters for gas-turbine air intake

A wide range of Defitec air filter element-cartridges are available, including: cylindrical, conical, V-pack and panel with multiple ways of fittings: vertical or horizontal yoke, hand crank rod, flange-top or twist locked bayonet.

We can provide a premium grade of media to fit your specific operating conditions, matching environmental requirements such moisture, fog, humidity and storms and designed to provide very high filtration-efficiency, extra long lifetime and minimum operational pressure drop in order to keep the turbine output at the maximum.

Replacement air-filters offer the following benefits:

  • They feature keeps uniform pleat spacing to improve the efficiency of the air pulse system and to increase the cartridges replacement time by at least 60 %
  • Efficient dislodgment of the filter-dust cake when the reverse air pulses, even in very cold or hot atmosphere and high humidity content
  • Sturdy construction, excellent reliability, high-durability in the toughest environments
  • Pleats held in place with hot-melt adhesive beads are deposited at regular intervals on liners, to hold the pleats evenly spaced and to bind them securely to the liners, providing extra strong mechanical resistance on the media during pulse cleaning
  • Each cartridge with its own seamless polyurethane gasket, of strong adhesion to end open cover, moulded in place to ensure an airtight seal for exposure in any compression, humidity and temperature

Gas filters and separators

We manufacture gas filters, filter separators and absolute separators, which can be used to remove solids and liquids from natural gas streams to power generation plants.

The filters are used to remove dry solids. They work by capturing large and small solid particles on the outer section of the filter with an efficiency exceeding 99.99%. These come in either vertical or horizontal shells.

Gas liquid filter separators are used to remove solid particles and liquid residue from gas flow, and are built in a two-stage design. First stage is a pre-filtration stage with pleated cartridges and second stage is made with an high efficiency form to separate residual liquid droplets from gas.

Gas filters and separators are regularly used in gas distribution and compression stations, and to protect mainline transmission systems, dehydration towers and desiccant beds.
