We have been focusing on the development and fabrication of pumps for the mining industry for years.
Besides, we provide air compressors for the project and site needs, and we are well placed to develop Air booster compressors.
Submersible drainage pumps and sludge pumps have been known to the mining and construction industries since 1960. The pumps are known for their high reliability, durability and dependability in demanding applications. Thanks to the built-in motor protection and the air valve, the pumps can run unsupervised for longer periods.
Drainage pumps
HAFE submersible drainage pumps are used for pumping fluids with abrasive particles. They are commonly used for dewatering in applications like mining and construction sites and in quarries. The pumps are equipped with an electronic motor surveillance and air valve that enables dry-running capabilities. The drainage pumps have a capacity up to 330l/s and a maximum of 110m of head pressure.
Sludge pumps
HAFE submersible sludge pumps are used for pumping fluids with solids up to the size of a tennis ball without clogging in numerous demanding applications. The pumps are equipped with an electronic motor surveillance and air valve that enables dry-running capabilities. The sludge pumps have a capacity up to 45l/s and a maximum of 47m of head pressure.
Stainless-steel pumps for corrosive applications
HAFE's Inox range of submersible drainage and sludge pumps are constructed from stainless steel, and are capable of handling extremely corrosive fluids with pH values from 2-10.
Inox pumps are intended for use in demanding applications such as mines, process industries, fish farms and harbours, which can quickly destroy conventional pumps. With its impressive allowed pH range, from 2 up to 10, it is hard to find an application that can't be handled by the Inox pumps. All materials in contact with the liquid are made out of AISI 316 stainless steel or better.
Evolution of hose diaphragm process pump
With the development of hose diaphragm piston pump more than 10 years ago, HAFE has been countering the disadvantages of traditional diaphragm and diaphragm piston pumps. It provides for the hermetic separation of conveyed fluid from the hydraulic system by means of a combination of a flat diaphragm with an additional hose diaphragm. In the process, the conveyed fluid is led in a linear flow path through the hose diaphragm and is in contact solely with the inside of the hose diaphragm and check valves.
Although hose diaphragm piston pumps already represent significant advantages over diaphragm pumps with several thousand units being well proven, consistent further development has been pursued with the double hose-diaphragm pump.
The double hose-diaphragm is a hermetically sealed, leak-proof, oscillating displacement pump with double sealing of the fluid chamber from the environment. The flat diaphragm is completely abandoned.
Slurry, froth and process pumps
HAFE is also providing reliable and long-lasting slurry pumps. By listening to our customers, HAFE continually strives to create new products and services to provide just what its customers need: rugged cost-effective pumps and services that extend pump life.
One of HAFE's newest pump series is its Slury Plus Heavy (SPH) slurry pumps. At the heart of your facility, mill pumps can reduce operating costs when pump operating cycle times match scheduled mill outages. The SPH series pumps are specifically designed for the hard rock mining industry - meaning fewer production disruptions and increased operational efficiency.
The company's high volume froth (HVF) pump is designed to work with slurry processes that use froth to help separate materials during processing - the HVF is applicable in a wide variety of mining and processing industries, from oil sands and hard rock to phosphate plants.
Self-priming pumps for solids and liquids pumping
HAFE self-priming pumps deliver reliable solids and clear liquids pumping and after initial priming, they continue to reprime automatically.
This next-generation series provides superior performance, increased reliability and has additional maintenance features. All HAFE pumps are available in a variety of materials and configurations.
- FJ series - ideal for pumping liquids with solids in suspension
- HT-R series - ideal for pumping liquids with large solids in suspension
Multi-stage pumps for the mining industry
HAFE’s multi-stage pumps, MP series, work up to 64bar pressure. They are designed with multi-stages to match flow and pressure requirements, especially high-pressure ranges. The maximum flow obtained with that it is 0.450m³/hr and maximum head pressure can reach 650m. These pumps are manufactured in our factory according to each customer’s specifications.
Multi-stage MP series pumps are made of cast iron for suction, discharge and stages casings. Impellers and diffusers are made of duplex stainless steel designed to handle corrosive liquids.
Applications for HAFE booster compressors
Booster compressors have a wide range of applications across many industries, with many uses in the mining industry. HAFE boosters can be used for pipeline services, including cleaning, hydrostatic testing, pipeline purging and dewatering, and offshore seismic exploration, including air gun shooting.
Our booster compressors are particularly useful for air, mist and foam drilling, including:
- Oil, natural gas and coal bed methane (CBM) drilling
- Water well drilling
- Mineral exploration drilling
- Geothermal drilling
Other applications include coiled tubing for well servicing, nitrogen gas lifting and N2 injection for mine fire suppression or enhanced oil recovery.
Booster compressors for mineral exploration drilling
There are two principal types of mineral exploration drilling, both of which significantly benefit from the use of compressors and boosters:
- Diamond core drilling is for deep hole full core samples: this is used for wider ore body definition
- Reverse circulation (RC) drilling is a method of collecting the rock cuttings at depth intervals to be analysed for mineral content: this can be deep hole for finer ore body definition
Air preparation equipment for the mining industry
When you are sourcing air preparation equipment, HAFE provides equipment involving mining and metallurgy technologies. We have plenty of OEM resources for air cylinders for loading stations, pneumatic control products for mining vehicles, ventilation and blast doors, haulage and conveying equipment, and equipment for the coking process and other heavy-duty operations.
Butterfly and wafer check valves
HAFE offers butterfly valves to meet the needs of many applications.
The cast iron bodied wafer butterfly valves are available with lever handles or gear operators in sizes 5.1cm/2in to 20.4cm/8in with ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), nitrile NBR or Teflon seats. The 10in and 12in valves come standard with gear operators for EPDM and NBR seats, and a 10in gear operated valve is available for the cast iron body / Teflon seat.
Cast iron lugged butterfly valves come as standard with gear operators from 10in to 24in (250mm - 600mm).
HAFE also supplies stainless steel butterfly valves with Teflon seats, wafer PN10 from 2in to 12in with lever handles and lugged butterfly valves PN10 for 2in, 2½in and 3in.
Double-acting and spring return actuators to suit are stocked too.
HAFE supply cast iron wafer check valves in 2in to 16in with stainless steel discs and EPDM seats.
Knife gate valves
HAFE provides knife gate valve equipment, and pneumatic and electric actuators, which are in accordance with the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) Category II- module A1, which is in recognition of our ambitious quality efforts and technical competence.
Our product range consists of 20 different models available in sizes from DN50 up to DN1600. The standard range consists of knife gate valves in stainless steel, cast iron or nodular iron. Special high-alloy materials available are Duplex, Hastelloy, SMO and titanium.
Slurry Tamer Valve
Originally developed for the coal preparation industry to handle dense media (magnetite) throttling applications. Subsequently further developed and applied in other aggressive or arduous slurries in numerous industry applications.
To satisfy such slurry control requirements a valve must be hard wearing with a long service life, and be easily and reliably automated. Also, should the need arise, it must be readily serviceable and repairable.
HAFE offers a valve to meet these criteria and more, Slurry Tamer the Wear Resistant Throttling Valve.
Many actuator options are available for use with the Slurry Tamer Valve, ranging from handwheels, chainwheels or levers, to pneumatic cylinders and electric motors.
