Heat transfer.

Industrial heating and cooling are though seemingly totally reversing process, while they inter-relate each other tightly, which both involves heat transfer process regardless of through air, water or other types of liquids.
Though heat transfer does not necessarily occur through liquid, but most of useful industrial processes are about heat tranfer through liquid - air/air, air/liquid, liquid/liquid etc.

Heat transfer technology has very important and extensive applications in industries, e.g. oil and gas refining, petrochemical process, power generation cooling, sea water desalination, food and beverage, HVAC-R (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) etc. Heat transfer is tightly connected with fluid handling, otherwise, could be considered one type of typical technology for fluid handling.
